Do They Have a Fighting Chance at Love?

After completing his sentence for the unintentional crime that derailed his youthful plans for fame and fortune, Levi Grant looks to start over in the town of Spencer, Texas. Spencer needs a blacksmith, a trade he learned at his father's knee, and he needs a place where no one knows his past.

Eden Spencer has sworn off men, choosing instead to devote her time to the lending library she runs in the town her father founded. When a mountain-sized stranger walks through her door and asks to borrow a book, she's reluctant to trust him. Yet as the mysteries of the town's new blacksmith unfold, Eden discovers hidden depths in him that tempt her heart.

Eden believes she's finally found a man of honor and integrity. But when the truth about Levi's prodigal past comes to light, can this tarnished hero find a way to win back the librarian's affections?
Review:
A sweet love story that revolves around the love of books and a small town library...what could be better than that?! I always love to find stories where the main characters love to read. To Win Her Heart is a great example of that.

Levi Grant is a man who has turned away from his past and turned toward the Lord, but still battles the demons that haunt him in his memory. Levi is ready for a new start to his life and work at an honest trade. He made a connection to the prison minister, who then put Levi in contact with the minister of Spencer. Levi was told a blacksmith was needed. Having learned it from his father, he sets off to a new town, where no one knows who or what he was.

Eden Spencer is the daughter of the town's founder, but hasn't lived long in the town, just a few years. She believed it would be the perfect escape to help her broken heart and the humiliation of her past. It is in the town of Spencer that Eden sets up a lending library, helps out with the ladies aid, and with local charities. Eden believes she is content to be a spinster. As such, she can't risk the hurt she experienced before. Her plans however, don't pan out. When Levi Grant moves to town, her attention isn't solely on the books she is lending.

To When Her Heart is a wonderful story of over coming the past and learning from it. Also, it is a story about not judging a book by it's cover (had to throw that in :-) ). Eden cares quite a bit about her reputation, but her ideas are tested when Levi steps into the library and then again when she is introduced to a young girl named Chloe. She is convinced her thoughts are spot on, till she gets to know the people.

Such a good story!

  2. Sounds really interesting! I've read one novel by Karen Whitemeyer and I wasn't very impressed, but I like the sound of this book with the librarian main character!
