Still, as they cross the skies between Italy and southern France, evacuating the wounded and delivering paratroopers and supplies, every beat of their hearts draws them closer to where they don’t want to go.

Can they confront the fears and misunderstandings in their pasts?

Review:
I've been wanting to read this series for a while. I have heard fantastic things about each of these books. I was not disappointed.

Have you ever met someone and when you spoke to them they had such knowledge and passion over a topic, or visited a friends house and they have what they love on display? I found out from reading Sarah Sundin's book, In Perfect Time, that she has such a knowledge and passion for WW2. It's a subject that is close to her. Her knowledge of the history is put on display for you on every page. The mannerisms, the clothing, music, speech, and the war, it's all there.

This story isn't just another WW2 romance, no, it is far more then that. This story sweeps you up and transports you to the past and you observe Kay Jobson as she struggles to find her place. When you first get to know Kay, she is a girl who likes to have fun...within reason. Most of her fun comes from one of her five boyfriends. (I'm in awe of her talent of juggling!) Despite Kay's apparent loose ways, she isn't what she seems. She refuses to make a relationship serious and when a guy starts to want more, she dumps him. However, her way of having fun make getting the job she really wants harder to obtain.

Kay battles personal demons as she helps people get well. She battles a past that haunts her and pushes her to act the way does. She is broken and has sealed her heart up from being hurt. I honestly just wanted to hug her when her story fully came out. Instead of letting everything beat her down, she finally listens to her friends, who have been there for her through everything during the war, and not only does she have her two best friends to rely on for help, she also has one other.

Roger Cooper is another broken individual, however, he sees something in Kay. He can't quite tell if she is genuine at first, and let's be honest, that is something a lot of us question when we know someone one way, and they change. Despite his hesitation, he offers her something that has meant a lot to him.

Roger and Kay each have dealt with hard things from their past, but during this time as they have helped the war effort, they have grown and matured and they not only grow, but rely on a faith they never had before.

This story hooked me. And the best thing about this story I really liked was the romance that was in it. It wasn't a love at first sight, I can't leave your side, type. It was slow growing and they started off as friends. I appreciated that about the story. These people were not in a place for a relationship and they had to work on each other first.

I now need to read the first two in this series. Book one is waiting for me on my shelf as we speak. I can't wait to read more by Sarah Sundin!

Too Read!
