Armchair BEA: Genre...What did we miss?

June 2, 2013

Throughout this past week, we have featured discussions on a multitude of book genres and audiences.  However, we as a team knew that we would never be able to connect bloggers with ALL the different genres and audiences that exist.  This is your chance to chat about all those genres that we didn't cover.

I know that it was covered in a boarder spectrum with the fiction genre, but I would have loved to see a section on Historical Fiction. I know not everyone reads it, but I would love to see what everyone else has read and liked...also I'm looking for new ideas. :-) So, call it a two for one on the genre.

In all honesty,  it would be neat to see the broad genre topics broken down a little more, but I know with such a huge even, that is hard to do. I enjoyed reading what everyone has posted and with the blogs that I have started to follow this past week, I can have things broken down that way. The way that ABEA handled everything, it worked out great. They were able to touch on so many topics in a short amount of time which would be hard to do otherwise.

For fun, I'll post my favorite Historical Fictions...just in case anyone would like to know.

The Last Disciple Series by Hank Hanergraaff & Sigmund Brouwer
Nefertiti, The Heretic Queen, Cleopatra' Daughter, The Second Empress by Michelle Moran
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Fortunes of the Blackhills Series by  Stephen Bly
Gone with the Wind by Margret Mitchell
Outlander Series by Diana Gaboldon
Lion of War Series by Cliff Graham

These are just the ones from the top of my head that I would like to share.
