Due to her parents’ promise at her birth, Lady Rosemarie has been prepared to become a nun on the day she turns eighteen. Then, shortly before her birthday, a friend of her father’s enters the kingdom and proclaims her parents’ will left a second choice—if Rosemarie can marry before the eve of her eighteenth year, she will be exempt from the ancient vow.Review:
Before long, Rosemarie is presented with the three most handsome and brave knights in the land. But when the knights’ arrival results in a series of attacks within her land, she begins to wonder if the convent is the best place after all. If only one of the knights—the one who appears the most guilty—had not already captured her heart.
I have to start off by saying, Jody Hedlund is one of my favorite authors to date. Her ability to weave in historical details to wonderful romances is flawless and fun. When I saw that she was going to dive into another favorite genre of mine, young adult, I was giddy! I could not wait to see what her story would bring.
This was a fun story. There is also a bit of a back story, you can find it in The Vow. It is a short prequel to this book. Rosemarie has lived with only one thought to how her life was going to be lived for four years and that is changed over night. I have to say, the change brought three very handsome, smart, and talented knights to her door, so it wasn't a bad change at all, in my opinion.
An Uncertain Choice had a fantastic mix of romance, mystery, history, chivalry, and gorgeous clothes and jewels. It all played off of each other added such a fantastic depth to the plot. The story was one, that also never stopped. I was hard pressed to set the book down.
I can not wait for the next book in the series, especially after being left with such a question! I will leave that to you to find out.
